The South Charleston waterfront has many beautiful 18th centry grand houses. It shows the prosperity period of the past.

Look at this mortar! The thickness of the wall, seems excessive. The park has many civil war artifacts like an outdoor museum.

This is a sad monument, in 1952 two US warships collided on a training exercise in mid Atlantic and one sank within 4 minutes with the loss of 170 sailors. Very sad.

I (Lee) have been reading a lot on this trip as we go along. It is a very eclectic mix.
” The Grand Design” by Stephen
Hawking
“The Science of Fractal Images”
” Clay Ceramics from National
Museum of the American Indian”
” Wild Flower of Zion National Park”
Now I’m reading ”Movememts on Art since 1945″ After this I plan to read “Chaos Making a New Science by James Gleik”. I ordered it from Amazon and I will pick it up when we stop in Savannah.
It is a strange mixture but I know as ll these book will be helpful for my paintings somewhere.
