Leaving Nassau

We were glad that we found the public beach where the local people bathe. A lot of children are playing in the water innocently and having fun. It was near Fort Montegu where we were visiting. The beach was well designed and protected by jetties for children.

The groins (rock jetties) provide shelter for the children.

We are leaving Nassau tomorrow morning to the Exumas islands. Can’t wait to have an afternoon swim. It will be more natural beauty and more peaceful. After staying in Nassau for a while, this sounds nice.

We bought all the provisions including Bahamian Rum which Peter likes. Tonight we are having Grilled Conch Steak as our dinner. We bought conchs again under the bridge at the local market.

Plate full of vitamin and protein.

The dinner was delicious. There is an aroma in the conch meat of the sea and very delicate balanced taste. When we were in Curasao a couple years ago, we bought a box of frozen Conch in supermarket. That was nothing like this fresh Conch.  As Peter’s says it has a sweet taste.

The dinghy is lifted and ready to go on a long sailing. If towing the dinghy in the back, we will loose some speed. Peter has made this Davits for the dinghy. Constructed and attached to the boat in Hollywood, Florida.

Will davits survive the rough seas?

Guitar on the up and down waves.

Adios Nassau! It is the night view of the Paradise Island from the New Providence Island. We will not miss the speed boats belting up and down creating lots of waves. We are looking forward to some natural and peaceful anchorages. Off at crack of dawn tomorrow.
