We really enjoy to learn Spanish together. The Spanish Teacher is 79 years old Dominican. He teaches English to the high school student normally. He gets confused with Spanish and English all the time because of old age. So when he writes down the words, he often writes in English instead of Spanish. And he is so forgetful what we have earned or not. It was annoying in the beginning, but it is OK now. The text is hand written by him and sometimes it is unreadable the alphabets. Although he gave us a written Exam already like a high school student.
I am doing really good paintings these days. It is so hot outside, I do not dare to go out. I am contented to stay in the cool in the room and painting. Peter has been out on the boat early every morning to do work on necessary things for the boat. There is always something to do in the boat. He has installed the airconditioner and needs to installed the Radar.
The Studio room is not big but the garden view is very nice and in the corner of the building. You can hear the Chicken sounds and Insects sounds all the time. We sleep in the studio room with airconditioning. This is the view from the balcony with Banana tree.
When you eat out, you meet the boaters all the time in the restaurants. Everybody hangs out in the same several places. And everynight there is some games and movies for the boaters. It is a good community. Last Night, we went to a bar frequented by the boaters, I practiced Spanish with the bar owner’s Dominican brother.
On Sunday we had lasagna special and the family from Aphrodite came and we all sat together. They have lovely kids girl 11, boy 8 and twin boy girl aged 4. They plan to sail for 7 years until the eldest goes to college. They are Canadian. It was a delightful and interesting conversation with the kids.
Today is a Friday and I am taking off the weekend. We have been sleeping in the boat on Saturday nights. On Sunday Morning 8:00 am, there is VHF Radio Net for the boaters. We planned to have an Anouncement for the Artists.
We had lunch with the Guard who is the Captain of this Restaurant area and the beach. We practiced to speak Spanish with him all the time. And after lunch, the motorbike came to take us back to the town. Everybody rides around on motorbike taxis. We normally get two bikes but for the return journey we only had one. Three on a bike, driver, me and Peter!
