We are going to Cabarete, which is two and half hours away from Luperon Habour. We, all the motobikers, are waiting for lunch to be served on the way to the final destination. We all think ourselves “cool”, since we motorbiking for such a long distance.

Peter is practicing Kite-surfing at the
beach. It is a social beach for all the Kite- surfers. The world championships are held here. Peter has wanted to try Kite-surfing for a long while, now he has his chance.

We are taking a break from the group and having lunch. Everybody is near the pool and dunking the body in the pool. Peter is debating if he will practice Kite-surfing again today or buy the Kite-surfing equipment instead.

It is famous to have a Pedicure on the island, man or woman. The sound of light music, Palm tree swaying, Ocean wave sound and the wind breezes all mixed up with your massaged feet. What a heaven!

While waiting Peter’s Kite-surfing, I have had a brading of the hair in a Carribean style.

About six years ago Peter’s daughter Hannah and her husband Roly came to the DR and bought a big parrot and carried it back as luggage. The parrot is now hanging in their stairwell. We think this is the same roadside shop, so Hannah here is the same photo you have in your bathroom, with Peter in it, a definite improvement!

Two and half hours on the Motorbike, the mountains and the tree lines are so beautiful! Passing through the town, Puerta Plata, was congested, the country roads are beautiful and tranquil!

What an accomplishment now we are safely back in Luperon. Peter says he loves my adventurous spirit. I think it it easy and natural. But thinking about it, a 63 year old woman riding a long distance on a motorcycle, without much experience on motorbikes, in a strange land, is quite adventuresome!
