There is too much beaurocracy in the Government in DR. As a result we have to check in and out in every town we visit. This commandant in Samana was relaxed but did not give us the permit to anchor in the National park. But enjoyed to play the Guitar and sang a Dominican song in our boat.

Peter went up to the top of the mast to undo the tangle in the Jib that stopped it rolling out and also a general inspection. It is very high but he enjoyed the trip!

The Marina in Samana has very beautiful facilities. The Infinity swimming pool right next to the ocean is amazing and has a beautiful view. Everything is so beautifully designed and built. We really enjoyed spending time here. The Marina fee is only half price which is normal Dominican price.

We rented a Motorbike and went to the deep mountains. The green mountains are so beautiful! After the Dominican lunch with freshly squeezed juice, we walked for about two hours. Mighty mighty waterfall has so much water from recent rain. Normal favorite activity is that people swim in the Waterfall. But too much water flowing over, nobody can get in. Everybody was disappointed after wearing swimsuit inside.

This is the Guide who came along to the Waterfall. The trail was really muddy and he was helpful to lead the way but too much propaganda to get big tips. It was annoying although at the end it was nice for him to clean our muddy hiking boots very thoroughly.

We decided to stay one more week in Samana. There is a lot to see and the facilities are so good. We can leave next weather window in the next week. Peter wants to go to Puerto Rico earlier since Roger is coming from England. But the beauty is making leaving difficult!
