Cruising the Islands

Two Dempseys, Father and Son are showing off the family Crest in the boat in a strong wind. Peter is half English and half Irish and very proud of the heritage. Mathew is more English and quarter Irish. Did I mention that I am more Korean and quarter Chinese?

When we left Saba Island, the wind died down so we turned the Engine on but the Engine did not start at all. For one hour, Peter worked very hard. He found out that an electric cable had corroded so cut the end off and reconnected to the Engine temporarily. Finally the Engine started with a strong sound. I told Mathew that Peter is a Genius about the boat techniques and the orientation and directions of the roads..

Goodbye Saba Island!

The Redonda Island is isolated and uninhibited and is made of one giant rock. The formation is shocking and beautiful. The Proportion is very handsome and frightenly awesome. I suddenly realized that nothing is permanent in the world and the universe and everything in existence is alive. This big Rock will be broken down pieces by pieces by the constant Waves all the time. The Rocks, Land, Cloud, the Ocean and Human life too, are evolving all the time. All phycal things are influenced by the physical elements like Gravity and Universal physical laws. And somehow constantly the mathmatical Fractal laws are influencing everything.

Awesome Proportions

Mathew’s last day is today so we went to Marigot, the French territory, and walked around. We went to a Local Restaurant and had Jerked pork, chicken and fish for lunch. It was a great meal because of the different flavors of Caribbean culture.

Peter found another friend

Peter is taking off the Main Sail from the Mast to be repaired. It is ripped almost 6 feet long. We may have to stay in St. Maarten until the repairs are done, that is the engine and the sail. Mathew is cleaning the bottom of the boat! Peter wanted for his son to help with something in the boat before he leaves. Mathew said that he will clean the bottom of the boat only partially. He found it satisfying and cleaned it all, good ol Mathew. He washed the dishes all the time while cruising too.

Scene with Main Sail

Mathew has been swimming almost everyday in the Ocean. He is going to go back to cold weather now. He is going to miss warm weather activities. But having spring flowers can be wonderful too. The only season I miss, is spring with its flowers. Peter likes all the seasons, winter snow and blue skies, spring flowers, summer long evenings and autumn mists and leaves.

Swimming in Caribbean is exotic

We are on the Pink Iguana to have a drink before going to the Airport. Mathew wants to come back for more Cruising later. He really enjoyed the Sailing itself. I have to brace myself to have a long sailing joueney when he comes back. We will miss Mathew! This is the Journey we had and it was too much sailing for a short time for me but Mathew and Peter enjoyed it.
