Palm Beach

West Palm Beach is newly designed. The Shopping Center is planned very well and functions well.

The promenade near our Anchorage.

The new Court House is large. If you look closely through the arch you can see the old CourtHouse, very much smaller.  We guess that there are more criminals nowadays!

Modern Design and grand civic building.

Palm Beach, across the river  claims to be the richest city in the US. Worth Avenue is very interesting to have many Courtyards connected to each other. It is very much like a Mediterranean medieval town with courtyards and narow streets but is modern being opened last year.  Mizner, the Architect of historical buildings, is very clever to use the Traditional Elements and designed interesting spaces.

Fountain in a public courtyard.

We enjoyed the Courtyards and spent some time in it. A lot of outside Cafes have pleasant seating and wonderful menus.

In anticipation of the dessert.

Peter enjoyed specially the Sculpture Garden in the Four Art Building. He is having a light conversation with Roosevelt and Churchill.

Three most important gentlemen!

He is enjoying the childhood with all these kids. He still has a lot of childness in him. His favorite saying is “growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional”!

Playing around…

The Flagler Museum is Mr. Flagler’s winter house. It is grand and beautiful. Mr. Flagler is famous for building the Railroad in East Florida.  The Interior is well designed and shows the power of Mr.& Mrs. Flagler.

Grand but modest winter home!

The Music room has the biggest organ in a private house in the United States. It is the gift of Mr. Flagler to his wife.

  2. Carol has a cousin who lives in West Palm Beach – we get down there every couple of years, especially in the winter. Glad to see you’re both enjoying yourselves there. One of the things I always love to do is waterskiing – phone up in advance, and they’re behind Palm Beach Airport. Great fun!

  4. I have seen the Flagler Museum some years back when I visited my aunt. She lives in Royal Palm west of West Palm. Flagler at one time lived in Mamaroneck.
