Hollywood Florida

We went to the Seminole Indian Reservation and visited the Museum and the Boardwalk to the village. The Seminole Indians fought hard against the American Government policy of relocation.

Indian Vilage,

They never surrendered until the Autonomy of the Indian Reservation. Nowadays they have financial and political Independency.

They are successful in the Tobacco industry and Casinos and they built the Museum by themselves without government support. All the Indian Reservation should be like them in my opinion.

Peter being challenged by a member of the bear clan.

We are sailing off the coast in the Atlantic going south to Hollywood. We are going to meet four boats together and spend a weekend. After the weekend, we will wait for the weather window to the Bahamas again!

The average time to wait for the weather window is about 10 days, we read in the book. So we are sitting cool.  Miami is close now so we could tour the city.

Peter caught a fish while we were sailing, Spanish Mackeral, and this is going to be our dinner for tonight. Presence-ing arrived in Hollywood yesterday and are waiting for us. Tomorrow, we will be all together.

“Mirage”, Nick and Conchi bought their boat about two months ago. It is Gemini 2006 and very good condition.

Nick and Conchi enjoying Korean Barbeque.

We went on a walk together to Hollywood Beach. Conchi is from Spain and they meet each other when Nick went to Spain to study.

Ice cream on the Beach in February!

Do you see this gigantic Red Snapper? It is roasted with garlic sauce. Peter and I ate all of it. It was interesting Mexican Restaurant on the beach front in Hollywood.

Special fish for Valentine’s day.

There was a terrific storm this morning, Feb 16, that included a tornado nearby. We woke to a large Catamaran dragging Anchor accros our bow then Presence ing started drifting accros the bay. Both Brian and Leigh on deck. By luck they ended up at the fuel dock in the marina. Their Anchor rope had snapped and the Engine did not start. Luckily no damage done.

The afternoon was dead calm so Peter helped them search for their Anchor. Which they did find. They were very lucky on two counts.

Another boat in the marina was damaged.  We all had a Post Tornado party on board Mirage that evening.

  1. That fish looks more than enough for more than two. I once lived in Hollywood, Florida. Enjoy!
