George Town Arrival

We caught this beautiful fish, yellow line and light grey color. Peter was quite happy to catch it for our lunch.

What an artistic looking fish!

We went to Cave Cay island and went
around the island with dinghy to find several caves. This is a limestone Cave with hanging stalactites. A lot of big fish in the water near the edges.

Old stalactites dissolving in the sea!

We were sailing to Rudder Cay and the wind was so good we were sailing with only Jenny. I started to paint in the cockpit following the motion of the sailing. The lines become very different if I draw at standing position.

Harmony of lines and planes created by the wind and water.

This Blowhole makes such big roaring sounds. You can see the Cave behind the Ocean side. The water colors are also so different from the Ocean side and inside.

The roar sounds like a subway train approaching.

There are so many Caves like this in the Exuma Cays. It is the process of breaking down of the lime stones mass. The islands look floating too with the Sea eroding the edges. Sometimes the stones look like a delicate lace work.

Large open grotto.

This Pirates Cove where people leave things or furniture. It is A cozy Beach and fire place is in the middle for the camp fire and sitting places.

There is a stainless steel Piano under the water and a Mermaid resting on the Piano chair. I wonder that somebody put the Piano there as a Sculpture. Peter went down in the water touched the Keyboard as if playing. Jettie of Duchess has a whole video of herself going down and sitting on the chair playing the piano. We met them at West Palm Beach.

We are sailing down to George Town as quickly as possible now. Duchess is expecting us and they will be there until after May. Jettie of Duchess promised to teach me the survival technique in the water. She told me that everything is in the head. She was in the Navy working as a Master at Arms.

We arrived at George Town. The Anchorage is so scattered and devided into big four areas. We were looking for Duchess with a Telescope and it was impossible to find. Next morning we announced in the VHF Radio net and Duchess answered back on the radio. We finally caught up with them after separating at West Palm Beach!

George Town is the largest town in the Bahamas South of Nassau. It is a cruising Mecca with around 400 boats in the season. A lot of folks stay here for months, some even years.

This is the part of the George Town Anchorage in the background. It is really spread out. And the dinghy ride is always wet.

It was the last day of the Regatta, we had jerk pork rib from a stand as and danced to the music in the evening.
