Luperon

We are anchored at Luperon harbour, Dominican Republic. Dominican people are very friendly and contented people. Everything cost one third of the price compared to America. We can eat nice balanced meals for two or three dollars.

We walked up the mountain and come down through 12 Waterfalls. It was quite a frightening experience to me but Peter, Fiona and Chris enjoyed it a lot. We either jumped down or slid down the waterfalls. These are our Guides for our group of 12 people. The Lead Guide was so good and attentive he saved me😂

Lee with Dominican saviors!

We went to this beach fish restaurant and had a Dominican seafood meal. We hitchhiked a Dominican pick up truck in the country side we sat at the back of the truck. The driver refused to accept the tip offered by us when we arrived at the restaurant. The restaurant was introduced by Sue who has lived in DR for long time and is from England. The food was excellent and the sea breezes kept us cool.

Fried fish and cold beer, heaven on earth!

We went to the arrival place of Columbus. This is the site of Columbus’s settlement. This is the place of Western culture introduction so there are so many things were the first birth of the continent of America. This is also the place we anchored on our first day, Cabo Isabela, now we are ashore drinking ice cold beer in a beach bar.

Standing where Columbus stood.

We went up the mountain by Cable Car and see that grandiose view of mountains and ocean. On the way to Dominican Republic from Turks and Caicos, the fist sight of the Dominican Republic from the boat is amazing. The layers of long mountains in the middle of ocean! And everywhere it is green.

We visited the French couple’s house in the country side. We met them in Georgetown and they are house sitting for a French family who have taken a trip back to France. We swam in the pool and enjoyed the view of mountains and the ocean. We were speaking to each other in French, Spanish and English all mixed up.
