This is the children in the school with Peter and Spanish teacher, Santiago. Since he is an English teacher, he speaks English with some students in front of us. The school classes are full and we visited the principal’s office to say hello to his wife.

We, eight motorbikes, went to Castillo( Columbus beach) all together. It is first time to ride so far by ourselves on a bike. Peter had a motorbike a long time ago, so we were very careful and slow. Peter would not drink beer since he is driving the motorbike! Very cautious.

Peter went into the water with friends and said that the water was really hot. I went to wet my feet and was uncomfortable because it was so hot. It is like in a warm bathtub. Although it seems that everybody enjoys being in the water.

Peter got this shell for me from the water. How beautiful! How can it be so geometrical and organic at the same time. It has its delicate balance in the form.

We are all having fun having lunch and spending the afternoon together. Everybody is a boater. Wendy(smiling one in the foreground) and her husband Dave just arrived from St. Thomas a couple of days ago and they are planning to buy a house here. They love the DR more than any other Island in the south. They went all the way to Granada and came back after spending three years sailing.

This is the party for foreigners and boaters. In order to make the Luperon Bay busy again like before, they specially make this event. The pork was so delicious, juicy and tender. We were so impressed. The Dominicans know how to make pork crackling. The skin on these pigs was delicious, also in the shops they sell crackling nearly an inch thick, we think they deep fry it. Tastes great even though healthy may not be a good description.

You guys look great. Glad you’re enjoying DR
