Thanksgiving 2016 and remembering Joe.

I woke up this morning late, since we went to bed late last night. Peter told me that there are two things he wants to talk about. First today is the second year anniversary of Peter’s son, Joe’s death.

Second, Nick and Conchi of “Mirage” sent a beautiful email to us. Their words are so soothing!

“Dear Peter,

We hope this note arrives with the gentlest and most endearing thoughts of your son Joe. I’m sure he will forever be in your heart, and reach out to you as a memory at this time every year. May the memory bring you comfort and delight.

We send our fondest words of support,

Nick and Conchi”

They remember the date! Here is the photo of them in Florida. We miss them and we are thinking of meeting in Florida next year and sail together to Cuba and Bahamas.

Peter seems much stronger now than last year! We are going to take a long walk to get flowers for Joe. In Luperon, there is no place to buy flowers but we know where we can get wild flowers.

We met a Dominican friend passing by in a car while we picked up the flowers on the hill that take us to the Marina.

We will go to the tip of the ocean and throw the flowers where his ashes were spread. The water meets all over the world!

We have been waiting for a weather window to leave for weeks now. A lot of boats are anxious about leaving. The storm, Otto brings a lot of rain in the DR. Serious flood are happening in the northern towns.

We had a Thanksgiving dinner in the restaurant Pequeño Mundo with other boaters and local friends. The turkey tasted so good after one year of absence. Now we are so accustomed to DR traditional food.
