Island Tintamarre

We decided to go to Puerto Rico for Hurricane season this year. Maybe I could organize a Show for my Paintings there. I have a definite new direction on my paintings, inspired by sailing and cruising life. And this direction will be the biggest part of my Painting life.

Here in St. Maarten, the cruisers go all different directions, to Europe across the Atlantic ocean, south to Grenada, north to Bermuda and west to BVI, Mexico and Panama and across the Pacific. We made a lot of friends since staying here for a good amount of time. Cynthia and Mike will go to Puerto Rico like us. Cynthia is a jewelry designer she uses all kinds of recycle materials to make beautiful jewelry. I am wearing her necklace made out of paper magazine. Mike is an experienced sailor who sailed all his life.

Great Friend Minx, Cynthia and

We, more than a dozen friends, went to a Thai Restaurant during Happy Hour with half price of Appetizers. We hang out every Wednesday at a Lady’s Lunch in the pool and became old friends to each other. Though we all go to different directions eventually. Something about St. Maarten, everybody seems to share a lot of things together and everybody could be good friends and especially share the adventureness.

Four Boats planned to sail to a small Island east of St. Maarten and spend couple of nights together. We will leave to Puerto Rico from this Island called Tintamarre. It is a French side Island very beautiful. Minx and Carribean Dream, both Catamarans, are anchored close to us. We are going to be together for a drink and dinner.

The Island is beautiful with pink sand beach and cliffs and you can see the backdrop of St. Maarten mountains around too. In early morning, we went to the other side of the Island by dinghy. we took a long walk and collected Brain Corals, shells and recycle materials. It was rocky and rough to walk. Even though Nina is 8 months pregnant and Cynthia pulled her Achilles tendon and is doing physical therapy now, we all came back without any problem full of souvenirs.

Beautiful Tintamarre Island

We had fun to have a Picnic on Tintamarre. We all laughed so much between Fred, the Theater Professor jokes and Cynthia’s entertaining stories. The dinner came out so well with dishes from each other.

The water is so beautiful and we swim around and raise hands to each other. Cynthia is swimming around their Catamaran boat. The next morning, we left for Puerto Rico. It was so sad to leave them but Minx will meet us in Puerto Rico after about a month.
