Winter in Puerto Rico

It is holiday season already! A lot of happy events have happened and we have been traveling around a lot.

Another Wedding for my niece in Catskill and after the wedding we all went to Orlando as a family trip which my brother from Korea enjoyed a lot.

Peter’s son Mathew and Leo had triplets born. They are really happy to finally have babies. Two identical boys and a girl.We plan to go to England and spend three weeks to offer our portion of help and dedication.

Peter’s late son, Joe’s memorial day, we went to the rain forest and picked up wild flowers and sent to Joe through the water in order to send love and remember him.

We could not save the dinghy damaged by Hurricane Maria so we bought a new dinghy and decided to paint the dinghy to look old and matching our Boat creatively, inspired by Jackson Pollack. We dropped the paint from the air. It looked beautiful with our coordinated special color.

Next day unplanned things happened. It rained so hard through the night the paint got everywhere inside of the dinghy ha ha ha ha ha…………. It really looks awfully old and tatty. That was the intention in order to discourage stealing but not quite this distressed!

Awful looking!

We drive around along the mountains looking at the revived trees and bushes after damage by the Hurricane. A lot of leaves come off from the the broken branches. The trees have only one
big branch sometimes and have a lot of leaves on one branch. It is not natural fractal tree form but it still looks a beautiful and unusual form. The top of the Palm trees looks abstract and shivering cold.

After Huricane Maria it looked like winter “All the leaves have gone” as the Mamas and Papas song says. The landscape was all brown but within a few weeks green was returning. Nature fights back.

Abstract look

There is still a lot of damage from Hurricane Maria with washed out roads and bridges. We still do not have electric power in our area. We do have water, that was a big event! As we have a generator and gasoline is easily available now we are doing OK.

The cemetery in Old San Juan along the ocean looks very cozy and happy. The sound of waves always strikes the gentil heart and a friend like Iguana always the friendly friend.

Merry Christmas to everybody. You up north enjoy the cold while we swim in the sea.
