My Sister!

Finally we are sailing, or rather motoring, to east with my sister and brother in law. They don’t have sailing experience so we take caution for them to adopt to the sailing life. We cautiously put the sail on and go East planning to go all the way to the British Virgin Island. On the way to Vieques we caught a big Spanish Mackerel.

Good for Korean cooking

My sister cooked the Mackerel in a Korean way after Peter cleaned the fish. It is a big fish so there was so much meat that we ate only half of it.

We were having fun in the water! My brother in law cannot swim so we were hanging around the back of the boat in the water in order to cool off.

Nice and cool!

My sister is five years younger than me but she had a 50 bedroom hotel business for 12 years in nothern England so she has much more wide life experience than me. She and her husband are trying to have rest and peace in retired life. They still have a lot of stress left over and are now trying to wind down. They sold the hotel four months ago and they think that it may take one more year to be free mentally and totally.

My sister and I

We have been very busy going places sightseeing and eating a lot of Korean meals which my sister cooks. Specially cold noodle is so good for the hot weather. It is a same meal the two north and south presidents enjoyed in Korean Panmoonjom during their meeting day.

Through the jungle

My sister and I did not spend much time together except family weddings and family time for 10 years. We spent some time in England but it was more with Peter’s family. We seem more differently changed to each other and also when over sixty, you are more settled down on your own way of doing things. So we are relearning to live together.

Sisters and husbands

Playa Negra, black beach in Spanish, has partial black sands in the beach. The fresh water flows all the way to the beach and makes the nice green valley toward the beach. The black sands are coming to the beach from somewhere by wave and mix with gold sands. It is quite dramatic.

A new obvious direction!

We all four drove the dinghy to the beach and walked the lonely untouched beach for a long time. We had lunch on the beach and walked continuously again. The aloneness filled up to the top and we become as one with the nature. What a wonderful feeling!

Drifters on the beach

My sister prepared Korean Kimbap for a lunch. It is with rice with a lot of different vegetables, cucumber carrot and eggs wrapped with seaweed. It is traditional korean picnic meal. When I was little, my mother made this lunch for a school picnic day.

Delicious!

Peter and I are getting a harmonious relationship together more in the nature. We face the nature as one in a deep level. We are so glad that we are together through this life. We know that we are true partners in the up times and down times and we will be together to the end of life.

  2. What a lovely post. Alan and I think you two are the models of how to live life to the fullest. It’s so nice to be able to reestablish relationships with those near and dear. We look forward to seeing you whenever you happen to be around. Perhaps we can meet on some of your travels. We’re off to Mexico City in a couple of weeks for an engagement party.
