We have not posted on our blog for sometime. We have finished our sailing trip and spent over 4 years on the boat, a lot longer than our intended 2 years. It was a wonderful experience, we made many friends and visited many interesting places. The photos and memories are outstanding. The feeling of freedom and self sufficiency sail cruising is an extraordinary experience.
During the transition to land and selling the boat in Puerto Rico we bought 3 distressed properties damaged by Hurricane Maria and renovated them. We did vacation rentals for a while and eventually sold two and kept one. That deserved blog updates but we were busy.
In December 2019 we traveled to Italy investigating properties and found a lovely place in Lentella, Abruzzo. We signed a contract intending to complete the purchase in March 2020 and then Covid hit. We delayed several times and eventually completed the purchase in February 2021 remotely. We owned a property that we could not easily travel to!. We got booster shots in October and set off to Lentella. This blog will now describe our Italian adventure in renovating a house in Italy.
